duck hunting land for lease in delacroix
hey guys my dad and his friends used to have a camp in delacroix for 30+ years and after katrina and the death of the landowner we lost the camp and our leases. Im now the one that needs to take my dad hunting as he is getting up in age and i was wondering if anyone knew of any leases or had an idea of places to hunt. we bought land on the road and have a trailer so we go stay down there regularly to go fishing but dont want to poach so we dont hunt. any info would be greatly appreciated.
i posted this same post about a year ago and a guy on here let me join the club they got into...but unfortunately they all got out of the lease for this year because of the lack of ducks. I didnt get to go but 2 times last year because my dad got real sick and was in the hospital from november to february but he is slowly making a come back and id really like to get him out there again.
thanks again

Tough area to find a decent lease, as you probably know. I've been looking for a good one for 5 years.

Why don't you see who their contact is and contact lease guy direct. That place has become a rat race, could help you if you were interested going south to pointe a la hache, but that's pointless being you have lot and trailer.

Re: duck hunting land for lease in delacroix
when i asked the guys for the name of the person they leased from they told me it was the guy from anglermanagement who i recognize from all the bad posts on him from louisiana sportsman. He leases and subleases all the property and overcharges for everything but it looks like i may have to just suck it up and deal with it. Ive been hunting delacroix for 23 years and my dad probably a good 30 years past me and never thought it would be so hard to find a lease out there. I heard that there is some land on the hopedale side of terre aux boeuf for lease but its usually larger tracts but im supposed to get some info on it in the next couple of days.

Cmk, just wondering where you hunt in Point a la Hache? I dont hunt that side but I have a camp in the marina and do a good bit of fishing down there.

Re: duck hunting land for lease in delacroix
Delacroix area is not worth the money they're asking for leases now,10 years ago yes. There are certain individuals that have raised the prices on leases in the area. The issue is that area lost thousands of acres of land in 05 and a lot of people that owned or leased land lost their land. So the demand for land is high but the land isn't there.
Good luck trying to find a lease

Not sure you are thinking about the right camp. We have a couple of trailers in the marina. Nothing special. Lol

Re: duck hunting land for lease in delacroix
I'm always up to hunt, just never do down there cuz I don't know of anything public and I'm not going hunt somebody else's land. I made a few hunts years ago launching a pirogue off the levee into the ponds between the levee and the back levee canal.
