What's your favorite duck decoy. I need to grab some new ones and it seems like there are so many different ones out since I bought my last a few years back. Honestly a lot of them look good but seem like they wouldn't hold up for more than a year.... |

I have 12 dozen Herters, it's too bad they are no longer in business. One of the toughest decoy ever made. |

I'd like to make 1-2 dozen cork dekes and burlap them. |

The new Avian X look great. I think they are as good or better than GHG Pro Grades. I have no idea how the paint hold up on them though. Even though GHG has its paint problems, it's still the only decoy I buy. The realism of their decoy is unmatched IMO. G&H also makes a great decoy that will hold up for years and years. Their only downfall is that they are extremely expensive and lacks the realism that GHG has. I buy GHG and put a coat or two of Krylon 1311 on them. Its a clear mattte protectant that helps the paint stay on there a little bit better. |

Love the krylon idea, does it make them look any different while hunting with them? |

I would never spend that much for a damn duck decoy. I buy the GHG hot buys and paint them with a satin clear coat.....they last for years and years...... 30$ a piece for a duck decoy....you guys make me chuckle! |

Yeah I've noticed it only take about 8-10 post in any thread for someone who could give two shits about the content to feel the need to judge, give negative comments or plain F up the content that is being discussed. I have never figured out why that is... But anyways back to the thread. Is anyone using the rig em right weight system, seem. Like they would be be quick to get out and pick up but might get tangled. |

I hunt over herters and the G/H decoys I think they have great feild markings , not the best looking in hand , but the ducks decoy good to them. |

Another vote for G&H. They are tough as hell, affordable, American made and get the job done. I agree with Sling that they aren't the best looking thing when laying in the palm of your hand, but the ducks don't seem to mind. However, their new teal and wigeon look great up close too! |

Best plastic decoy on the market are the Dakota's. They hold up and are very realistic. Only prob I noticed with mine is they ride high in the water and bobble bad in rough water. The best boxed decoy IMO are the Higdon fully flocked. They are great deeks backed by an awesome customer service. I've got 2 dozen now and would rather have a great small realistic spread than a big spread that looks like a bunch of reflective mirrors when the sun hit em. The rig em rights are the only weights I use. Ain't much more than quick riggin em yerself and they hold up fairly well. I've had a couple crimps slip off but that's bout it. Had em since they hit the market 6 er so years ago. |

I do not care for the GHG Mallards that I bought 2-3 years ago, more than half of them cracked all along the bottom where the keel meets the bottom of the decoy. I think I'm bought to buy a dozen dakotas. |

Anyone got a good light weight water keel mallard decoy they like to use? Gonna keep something like the Dakotas in the boat in a slotted bag, and have a light weight sack of decoys for walking in places. |

I bought a dozen of the Dakota X treme mallards too! They look awesome http://store.********/mobile/dakot ... e-mallards I priced them all around. And the above was the cheapest I found. Rogers was 138.99 but 18 bucks to ship. ***** was 155.99 but free shipping so I saved a buck! But every buck counts to a marriage during duck season! |

I think the shipping was 10$ or so. All together it was under 150$ for sure. |
