Came out to try some teal again this morning. Was first at the boat launch and first to the ponds. Got all the dekes out and pulled the boat in the reeds. There is usually 3-5 boats that hunt these ponds and there are 4 good sized ponds and many smaller potholes. First boat comes in, we shine the lights, he keeps coming and sets up in a pothole just east of us. He's close but not close enough to piss me off. Next boat comes, shine the lights. He stops, talks to the other boat for awhile then decides to keep coming. Shine him again, he pulls into the pond and looks like he's about to turn and head back. Then he kills the motor and his lights. So I whistle, he whistles back. I say, y'all not setting up right there are you? He says its not y'all, I'm just one guy. I holler back, one guy or not, you're mighty f*ckin close. Now he's damn near closer to my mojos then I am. He gets pissed, starts the motor, revs it up like an ass, and proceeds to go setup at the other end of the pothole as the other guys. Why would you not go hunt one of the other ponds? I just don't get some people.

It's going to be a war this year I think...
What you are experiencing is what you'll likely see for the season....unfortunate as it is.

Is all of the public ground where you guys are from first come first serve like that during big duck season? Sounds like it would be a real test of patience! Our public hunting up here is all from built blinds except for when early teal/goose is in. We've had a couple problems like that so far this teal season too.

Should have told him to get in your boat and hunt with you or get the heck out of the hole. Last year we had two guys set up about 50yds in front of us 10 min til shooting time after flashing them and hollering at them they ignored us so we fired warning shots over their head and they politely lefts amazing what you can do if you just act like true sportsman lol

Some ppl are inexperieced, some are simply clueless and others are just pricks...lol. I hate hunting close to ppl even if the hunting is hot. If you beat me ill carry my ass and I expect the same treatment....which rarely happens. I had a couple guys set up behind me not 50yrds through the woods last yr and we were the only ppl on the whole side of the lake. Why you would choose to hunt like that is beyond my understanding. I yelled at em but they would never reply and it was too deep/thick to walk back there. Idiots.

I would have invited him to hunt with us if I didn't already have three people in my boat. And I'll never understand hunting close to someone else, I'd rather be somewhere where I can work the birds. It sucks to call birds in, have em start to circle and watch some assclowns try to sky bust em.

Better a warning shot then letting my 7yr old nephew shoot them in the face when some ducks flew in and he got to excited or vise versa, i would kill a man with my bare hands for hurting my nephew especially when we flashed them off several times and then polity called out to them and they ignorantly ignored us.it was a lose lose situation so i did what i had to do

I dont agree with intentional shooting in someone's direction. This is what I do. I carry a box of steel upland game load in the boat (that way I'm legal with the no lead thing, and they are cheaper than regular steel) cause at this point im not duck hunting anymore so a light load dont matter. If someone does not respect me enough to go somewhere else after I've already set up and decide to set up on me at 50 yds. Well they already ruined my hunt so ill ruin everybody's. It's amazing how fast people will leave and not bother you after you fire a single shot the moment a bird even comes into view or as soon as you hear someone call fire off one round. All while standing in the middle of the decoy spreads.

Nope....make it rain with those low brass shells......or just walk across the pond and tell them to leave or you will shoot all their decoys.....

Call me next time this happens and ill take care of them for you. I have lots of important people on speed dial and I can sink their boat with my wake.
