All I use is older ol man climbers but I was looking at a light weight run n gun climber this year. I love my ol mans but I'm leaning towards a summit viper elite sd or lone wolf. Any recommendations? I got gift cards to blow at cabelas.

Ive had a summit viper hd for 3 years and its either in the woods or back of the truck during the season, same fabric. Light and easy to wrap around s tree in the dark. Probably the most comfortable climbed I've ever owned.

I have a summit razor 21lbs. Climbing bar folds behind you. I also hear good things about lone wolf.

I like the lone Wolf. They are very lightweight and completely silent because of the cast platform. They also fold up nice and flat. Only bad thing about them is the price!

I purchased a viper last year and like it, coming from an old man original it took some getting used to. I still like the ole man and use it but that more for leaving in the woods it's heavy but comfortable for long hunts. When it's time to go mobile ill call in the viper. It's amazing how light it is. I can carry it for a 2 hour walk and never have my shoulders get fatigued. Hunting out of it takes getting used to. It has a smaller platform and the climbing is a little harder but other than that I have no complaints. In short id buy another one if I had too.

Summit all the way for me! I've hauled a few different brands around but all around the Viper is hard to beat. Like some of you I take off on "walkabouts" a lot and really never mind the stand. The better straps w/ a "silent seat" by Hazemore makes it a great bow stand.

Been using a Summit Viper for about 12 years or so... Replaced the air bladder seat with newer foam seat, added the foot rest. I have spent 12 straight hours in the tree so it must be comfortable.

I went to the Lone Wolf when I started shooting a long bow. You have total free range of motion with no arm rests, safety bars and all the other gadgets. The small seat is not the most comfortable. But, it does not creak/crack when you shift your weight....which busted me one time with an old, cheap riveted API climber!

The other climber I have which I really like for climbing is an Amacker with the "self" leveling system. Bought it after I ended up hanging from my harness one time....tried to level a foot rest twenty some-odd feet up in the tree! Duh me! Will never be in a tree stand without a harness, again!

If you get the Viper, get the big one also.

May want to check this one out. I really like the looks of the leveling feature. kindof pricey.

I have an old steel framed Ol Man. It does fine, but I have been looking real hard at some Summit stands.

I own a viper, and a sit and climb lone wolf. both are nice and comfortable, but the line wolf is way easier to put on a tree. and there no comparison on its easier to shoot a bow out of. you also have a better profile on the tree with lw. your back is actually against tree. I feel like I have to stand up all the time in viper, cuz your bow will hit rails on viper. I can sit and shoot really good out of lw. they cost more , but to me it's worth it.

I will this, if you get a viper put a grinder to the teeth it'll help get a better bite on those hard wood trees

Have the Lone Wolf Wide sit and climb. Upgraded it to the flip seat and added the hunt comfort seat as well. That added about three lbs to the stand but well worth it in my opinion. Folds and carries flat, makes no noise at all and wide open. I know you pay good money for the stand but I wasn't happy with the seat that came with it. I tried a summit seat on it. Which was more comfortable as well. Tried the hazmore seat but it didn't slide back when you stood up. I am really happy with the set up now.

Ain't any jumping going on and i wouldn't consider 175 anywhere near heavy. Now if you had said that 3 years ago, at 250 I'd have to agree lol!

I pulled the trigger on the summit viper elite sd. I couldn't pass the deal up. Brand new in box for $250 from some dude. I'm pretty happy with it. It's 16lbs and much lighter and quicker to hang vs my steel old man multi visions.

I have a summit but kick myself in the ass for not getting another ol man. Lone Wolff are light and very comfortable as well.

I bought a gorilla a few years ago and hated it, not enough foot room for standing up to shoot so I sold it. Parents bought me a newer gorilla last yet for Christmas so I gave it the benefit I the doubt to be better. Well I used it yesterday and found out that they still suck. Just FYI.

Most comfortable tree stand ever is the tree lounge. Heavy SOB

Best climber is the lone wolf sit and climb. Tricks to get it to work better
1. Reverse the nut/ bolt to allow the belts to tuck in 100%
2. Change out last bolt on climber to a bolt extender and additional bolt. holds gun/bow
3. Use the safety line as the carry strap
4. Use tactical pants with a riggers belt.

I carry it for miles in swamp and uplands. Very light weight. Not very comfortable but I can sit in it for 4-6 hrs without a problem. Not for a heavy guy. Max 215# . just not wide enough.

They now make a wide version. Mine works well for me.
