Are alligators bothered much from a running mm? Going to help out a buddys crew that got a permit. The area we will likely be is a smaller lake thats fairly shallow. Didn't know if the best approach would be to muscle my way into the lake and kill the motor and use a pole and paddle to get around or if an idling motor was mostly ignored. Thx When i say small lake water is maybe 75yrds wide and 500-600yrds in length. |

We've been using them to hunt gators. No problem in getting within casting distance. They will sink to bottom but we will just wait them out, 30-45 minutes. We should already be tagged out but our casting game has been iffy. |

This lake is pretty shallow and is clear as drinking water.......if we can get in it. Thats my main concern. Its very low and there's a bunch of mud between the bank and water line. |

If you maintain a constant slow speed they seem not to re-act too bad. Should be able to get within easy casting distance, just don't fluctuate your speed to abruptly. |

Will this be at night. I get right up on the side of them while we are fishing. Most times you can see them on the bottom |

Shouldn't bother them, we have run over quite a few of them and idling usually you can get right up close to them. If they go down they will pop back up before to long. |

at night is easy... go almost right up to them and shoot them in the head... if you not quick they will get smart fast though |

If they've had no pressure just run up on them. I don't think the motor bothers them as much as a bright light. Keep your light as dim as possible until you get on him. If its clear water, shouldn't matter, just ease up to where you saw him and go neutral not to stir up the bottom. |

Med are you gator hunting in So Ark? If so there are some monsters there. My pard dove for mussel shells down that way and spoke of humongous gators. |

Yes Randy in lower ark. We're going in the morning to get a game plan together and look at our options. I've got my fingers crossed. The gators are there, its getting to them that may be the issue. This one was taken nearby |
