Bluewings have a pretty good size bill for their size, and they have a very slight "spoon" to 'em, but nothing like a Shoveler. I dunno, maybe you got a crossbreed, take a pic if you still got it. We get mallard/black duck mixes all the time here, I think I remember somebody seeing a wigeon mixed with something too.

When you're smilin'... Early in the year, it is usually pretty rare to see BWT drakes with orange legs...that and the giant bill kind of give those two away. Those immature spoonies are really easy to make a mistake on. Not that I've ever done something like that.
