Took my dad hunting with me in PAC this morning. I forgot how funny it is there. We shot out limit (teal and gray), but the best part about it was listening to all the guys call. My dad (who I haven't hunted with in almost 12 years) couldn't stop laughing at the guys hailing egrets and becrosh (at least that's what we call the white or brown birds with the bent beaks). My dad is old school. Like leave the duck call at home old school. I'm used to these guys hailing everything, but I guess I forgot how funny it was to someone who hadn't been around it in a while.

All in all good hunt, but because of my dad's reaction one of the best in a while.

Calling ducks is so over-rated. I couldn't agree with your dad more.

Most over used tool in duck hunting.

Water motion and a well hid blind are 100x more important but ignored

I find one of the only duck I can constantly call in is blue wings. I don't know why, but always have been able to work em in. Big ducks I'll give a couple feed quacks as they are over head, but usually I shut up and let em light.

That is how my dad and pawpaw was. They would only call once to get their attention if they was flyin away. They used to always tell me that not callin is better than over callin. They hardly ever called when I hunted with em as a kid. I have some buddies that call way too much and I have to constantly tell em to stop. But they have some nice leases so I guess it weighs out. Lol
