 South Tx hunt Well we came down for 5 days to South Tx hunting last week. We had a ball but just couldn't seem to get on the birds real good. First day we got there we drove all night 12 hrs to hunt that morning killed a few birds saw a good verity of birds the weather was great lows of 46 and birds seem to be coming out the marsh headed to the fields or something.Got our limit on reds one teal and one pin. 2nd day was pretty good NNE winds 11-13mph something like that wasn't as cool but seen a few birds mostly red heads got our limit on them and that was it. 3&4 Day was HOT nothing but reds with a exception on 2 pintails. We tried our luck at fishing but me not knowing red fishing to much and with the high tide they didn't seem to bite. On;y thing we could find was ole hard heads.We had a blast but I think the next time we come we going to plan the date a little better.

Re: South Tx hunt 30 reds coming into dekes is an awesome sight...especially if they get a little whacky coming in.... The pins fly in big flocks to. They will sit on top of you for a while before committing. ... planning a trip down there after split....

Re: South Tx hunt Yeah last year we had a group of 100-150 pins that came an landed in the decoys. We were tring to shoot all big bulls and it was only 7 big bulls in the flock and they where all in the back of the flock when we jumped them up we lost em in the mix and never fired a shot sad sad sad LOL
