Post Good value binoculars?
Sitting in my treestand right now, i realize i haven't ever really hunted fence lines in farm fields before. With that said, i am realizing i need a decent set of binoculars. What are you guys using? I want a fairly inexpensive pair. I don't need a $1000 set of glasses!

Check out nikon glass. I have a small pair i keep in my blind bag and they are very clear. Think they were 250-300$ but worth every penny.

Nikons are some of the best lesser expensive.....ive looked through some 2500 dollar glasses and unless you are scoring a deer from the stand or trying to age a deer at 600 yards they are unnecessary... but man they are sharp and clear.

Post Re: Good value binoculars?
I went to Cabelas today to look at them and in the $2-300 range the Nikon, Vortex and Redfield were my favorites. However Vortex's Raptor (i think that was the model) in the $5-600 range are what really caught my eye. I'm going to take some time to think about if I would use them enough to justify the higher cost. If so, I will wait to accumulate Cabelas points (I used mine for the raffia grass on my boat earlier this fall) and for one of their tiered event sales. Thanks for the info! It was all spot on with what i found in looking through the different binos today!

Vortex hands down for the money. Many of them look good in the "perfect" light and you can't tell shit in a store. Vortex is right there with ones that cost 2 and 3 times as much.

I got this combo a few years ago(minus the knives) an have been very satisfied. i use the range finder mostly, it has 5x magnification, but later in the season when i start hunting big food plots i will carry the binos. I know there is better ones out there but since i bow hunt mostly the range finder makes the money

Are you near a scheels? I have the scheels 10x42 they are comparable to the cascades. Think I paid in the $250 range and anything that is scheels name brand is lifetime warranty. Been very happy with them so far.

I have a set of compact Leupold's which have unreal clarity. I have a set of their "back door" brand, Wind River full size roof prism bino's with clarity equal to the Leupold's but at a much cheaper price tag.

I have a Nikon scope on one of my rifles. For what it cost, I think it gas really great clarity, also. The Nikon bino's are obviously pretty popular, here.

I know Nikon has been a popular brand for a long time. But for the money, Vortex has them beat. They're on par with Leupold optics, for less money.

I know you not asking me but I have the same set and they are comparable to other top brands that cost 3-4 times as much. Can look directly under the sun or straight away with no issues. I've glassed through many brands and Vortex are the best for the money IMO and they have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty.
