Probably going to get ripped for this but here goes. I've always wanted to go on a hunt on Catahoula but from everything I've read and heard, its hard to hunt it without getting too close to someone's blind or stepping on toes. I'm not the kinda fella that goes out there and pays someone to call my ducks for me and tell me when to shoot. What i'm wondering is, does anyone rent a blind out there like guys on the outer banks do where you can take your own stuff and just hunt their blind without having to worry about someone showing up 20 min til shooting time saying you are in their blind? Basically like renting a Pit for the day. Hell if one of you fellas have one, its fun to meet new people and share some duck stories while watching a sunrise. Aint much a SC boy can offer to a LA boy that he aint got, but i'd be more than happy to return the favor if I could

That's why its hunting they say. I've been to AR before and not pulled the trigger, went to go hunt with some friends and like an idiot, didn't take a boat due to their advise and we were stuck hunting dry ricefield due to water in the White receding. I just like hunting new places and meeting new people. Its fun to see how other people do things in different areas and witness traditions. I'd love to check a Catahoula Can and Greater off my list of things to do

The "Catahoula Can" is just a magazine article title, that lake really isnt all its hyped up to be.

I've had several buddies that hunted it back in the day but don't hunt anymore but they said it was something you had to experience. Not trying to bring attention to ya'lls lake just didn't want to cause problems with the regulars. wanted to respect their area like I expect others who hunt my area to do. There are cans that frequent here but require certain equipment that is out of my price range and not worth it to kill a few. I'm a puddler hunter and rarely set up for the divers, they are just accidents when I kill one.
