I'm thinkin it's black but buddy keeps sayin mottled it does have a lil white on the ends so I'm not to sure?

Only way I can tell is if it has freckles all the way under the chin its a black. If freckles stop at bottom jaw bone its a mottle

I'm going to go with (closest to camera) Black duck due to the Bill and color spectrum, (farthest away from Camera) is a Mottled due to Bill color and defined white line below spectrum.

Both mottleds. Way too light to be blacks and both speculums have white on the bottom edge...

You'd know if it was a black. Speculum is no doubt purplish, not like when you gotta question it with a mottled cuz it plays tricks on you, and the feathers are darker.

I must be going color blind, cause the spectrum on the back bird is green and the spectrum on the front bird is blueish/purple. :lol:. Black can have a very faint white line on the end of the color spectrum, also young female Blacks are not as dark as mature Blacks are. But hey I may be seeing it wrong, Its hard for me off of a picture. :D
