I will be heading up on the last weekend of the season to hunt around stuggart / pine bluff area, I think bayou meto. If anyone familiar with this area? I have never hunted ducks anywhere except south east louisiana. |

Good luck. I've personally not have much luck after mid January there. Killed a few but no barn burner. Christmas and New Years always seems to be the time to go. |

Well, my son has been hunting in Northeast Arkansas since last Thursday. Not a single shot have they fired. Don't waste your time. |

I would suggest finding a place to hunt south of Oxford,Ms. Reason I say this is I just returned from there wearing the greenheads out. All private where I hunted however we seen mallards everyday and all day. |

Just got back from 3 days at the club just west of jonesboro . Smoked em all 3 days. Didn't even attempt to hunt til around 11 am each day. Ducks should stay in the area til the end of the season. Heading back out the last weekend. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

Advice for you.....pits don't work well this time of year. Timber hunting has slowed. We smashed em out of layout boats in tall rice stubble. Do something like that or hunt tree lines that border flooded fields. Something ducks aren't used to seeing and getting shot at over Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

Well I'm back (SE Arkansas) and it wasn't a barrel burner like normal. We didn't have any small ducks at all, mallards, a couple gadwalls, and I got a nice pair of pintails. My cousin says when the winter storm that came through a week or so ago it pushed what they had south and no new flights had came in. This was the first time in the past 10 years that I we didn't see flights up high, even the geese were scarce. But as usual it was a great time and we shot a few. Good luck, maybe this next storm coming will bring you some down for this weekend. |
