I was looking at a Facebook post on the Firearms swap shop and this one guy is selling a M&P AR15 .223. This other guy asked about shooting a deer with it. 3rd guy responds "Cant shoot deer in Louisiana with that caliber." Is the 3rd guy right? |

Word for word from reg pamphlet: It is illegal to hunt or shoot deer with firearms smaller than .22 caliber center-fire or a shotgun loaded with anything other than buckshot or rifled slug. Handguns may be used for hunting. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

I didn't see in the pamphlet anything about mag sizes. If a 223 is not legal according to the guy I mention, then a 22-250 isn't either. Isn't the cal, not the shell casing, of a 22-250 smaller than a 223? |

http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/sites/defa ... evised.pdf Just read through the regs and couldnt find anything about mag capacities. I could have swore I read something about it a couple years ago when i bought my AR. May have been changed since though. |

Just did the same thing. Went through RS-56 inside and out. Nothing about capacities other than shotguns and three shells. Don't see why you couldn't hunt with a 30 round mag on your AR. If somebody says otherwise, I'd like to see it. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

I know there are some states that do have hunting rifle magazine capacity limitations. From what I have read, don't see it for Louisiana. Sent using Morse Code from my not so smart phone. |

The fourth round doesn't sit in the tube. It sits under the bolt. Least that's how the beretta is. Its kind of a pain to get in there. I never do it, but could if i wanted to. |

.223 is 100% Legal in Louisiana to hunt deer with just not capable of holding more than 5 rounds in the gun and magazine. Id like to know how many kids killed their 1st deer with a .223 |
