My buddy takes a 300 weatherby elk hunting, it's damn expensive to shoot, but does the job, he shoots 180s just as I do in my winny mag ill hit him up |

Damn Jimmy I reload ours for a Hell of a lot cheaper. I load 180gr nosler partitions in both our rounds, they will flat level what ever they come into contact, but don't seem to tear up much meat , unless you shoot into the shoulder or something. Watched my 300" 6x6 elk fall on his nose from one. Idk how far you shoot but I've got mine shooting a 3" group at 700yrd. But probably would shoot anything past 500 |

I've been shooting the 180's from mine for close to 20 years now, usually always weatherby brand. As to hand loading, I've never known anyone who was able to hand load a round that was equal to what weatherby offers stock for there ammo. Have seen people get real close, bet never better. I don't know what blends they are using in the powder, but it can't be matched. You have to actually watch shooting there ammo down here in the summer in high temps, as it is pushing the limits with pressures. THere ammo aint cheap but it's hard to beat |
