I've thought about this A LOT before...........I came up with the SE Missouri, NE Arkansas, West TN area. Its mid-continent, is in the largest river system in the country, doesn't freeze up for extended periods, and several other great destinations are within a 6 hr drive when times get tough. You can hunt natural marshes, flooded timber, croplands, the big river, and reservoirs. This area probably offers more variety in hunting styles than any other part of the country. The only scenario that isn't close by would be coastal marsh hunting. There's my .02... |

DMD- a hand can get skunked in Alberta. Fact. But, most folks on here would take up golf, tennis or rollerblading before going through what we do to see "a" duck. Buddy of mine goes to Texas every year and hunts WMA's and shoots limits every day. Yep, gadwalls teal whatever. Their favorite place is well known. Heard it on lots of sites as being over-crowded and no birds. Well, he walks about 3 miles in slop mud and knocks the crap out of birds. Even the Chesapeake is getting terrible. Hell, the seaducks are getting butchered so folks in Ohio can have a wall mount. Can't hardly eat them. It's bleak over here boys. Unless shooting golf course geese gets you hot and bothered. ![]() Having said all that....4:30 am tomorrow I'm going to be paddling up river through some rapids in a canoe to shoot my 3 wood ducks. God willing and the creek don't rise. |

Live on the road. Start killing in Canada and follow the ducks to mexico where they have no limit and for $5.00 a day a lil Mexican dude picks up and cleans your ducks. Plus he keeps the Tequila glass full.. |
