A buddy of mine just got one, too, but we haven't had a chance to go out. Looks like the best of both worlds to me....

You ever try one of these:

Is this the first company that has made a hybrid?

DDM, how are their bows that they make?

DDM,
I am ordering my bow next month. Please keep us informed how you like it. I was considering putting that on it. I am going to hire you to charter me. If I like the experience I am setting my rig up for bow fishing.

Where is the best place in South Louisiana to get set a bow fishing bow set up. I would rather go in person than order online.

I heard on some reviews that people were complaining that the button was hitting the bottle before it would click to release. You have this problem? They said an ams bottle on the Cajun reel works better.

Yea man that to much. Just think when you miss you have to pull the arrows out the mud. All my customer bows are set around 23 lb

So if you have already hit the button are are fishing and then accidentally hit the reel handle will the button reset causing an arrow to fling back at you? I have always used an AMS reel and haven't tried a zebco or this style

It's like a AMS just has a tension knob. It will not come back at you

Post subject:  Re: New bowfishing real

I went out yesterday without ever having fired a Fishing bow. I have not shot any kind of bow in the last 20 years and I have never owned a Bow.

I bought an AMS Fishhawk setup. I believe the Bow is set between 30 and 40lbs. My first shot at a fish was a gar at about 10 yards and I hit it. I blew all the way threw several fish and had to get the arrow back through the fish.

The AMS Bow at 30 to 40lbs is way more than enough to stick fish.

Of course I used the AMS Pro retriever and did struggle at times to control the Troll Motor and reel in my arrow.

Of about 15 fish I shot only one shot failed to penetrate through both sides of the fish. We shot only gar and saw no Carp.

The one thing I am really adamant about is the Safety Slide. I can see where it would be very dangerous to shoot without one on your arrow.

I bought a fully enclosed Rest and caught myself twice loading an arrow with the Safety Slide on the wrong side of the rest. I can see where a string tied to the rear of the arrow would eventually tangle the line and hurt someone.

I had an MWD hand come out on one of my jobs that had an arrow fling back on him. Went through his lower lip, graze his lower jaw bone at an upward angle and lodge into his cheek bone...dont remember the style he was using but I dam sure dont want that kind. And one of the reasons I didnt get into bowfishing a couple years ago.

When from a AMS to a spiner last year. I think it was a good change. The new reel seams so much faster.

Junk junk junk. I basically gave up on them. You have to be a full time parts changer to shoot them
