Picked up a DPMS .308 at the DU banquet the other night. Any opinions on these guns? What kind of optics they putting on them?

Buddy of mine has one. Seems like a good gun but alot heavier than my .223!! I'm not sure if Nikon has a bdc for .308 or not but I like my M 223. Mines a 4-12x42mm. Trijicon has a very nice scope too!

If you didn't spend much to win it, drop some good change on a Trijicon ACOG. It has a drop compensator and would make a nice combo. If not, I'll give ya $500 to take it off ya hands.

Or a 6x unertyl just as good as an acog . Nikon makes a good variable as well. . Leopold. All are targeting this market with good optics. , I have a. 5 x Unertyl on my match 223

I have a aimpoint pro on my 556. 3 year battery life if left on. Rock solid. You can get for under $400 if you look around

I favor aimpoint also. What do you plan in using the gun for, cqb or Long range hunting?

Let me know if u want to trade that gun since it didn't cost you anything. Pm me if you are interested

I had a sportical. Traded it tho. It looked badass with my X-25 drum. It held 50 rounds

I would put something like a 3.5x12x50/40 .. Depending on budget .. I prefer leupold ...

I did and trigger job and upgraded my buffer tube even though I have the 223 but gun is still a shooter

You gotta mention what you're going to use it for. I'm a huge fan of the Leupold VX-R line.

I have several DPMS 308s. By the way DPMS makes the Remington R25 as well. Excellent Rifles but they are heavy. You will find that accuracy is far better than expected on an auto rifle. Most of the DPMS Rifles will out shoot the bolt guns. I have Leupold on all mine but if I had a free rifle I would have to try the Burris Eliminator on one. I am cheap I buy all my Leupold rifles used from Pawn Shops and send them back if something is wrong with them. So far I have had only one that I really need to send back and that one is mounted on my Duty Rifle. The Power ring that adjusts from 3 to 9 power requires Channel Locks to turn but the scope is dead accurate and clear.

I have some leupold's on some other guns and i am satisfied, just inquiring what else is out there. I don't know what I'm gonna do with the gun yet. It is heavy.

There's a bunch of variable power optics that I would pick before I got an ACOG. But that's just me. If weight is your primary concern and long range precision isn't the most important, Aimpoint H1 is the king.

Had a DPMS SASS 5.56 upper receiver once. Talk about a shooter, sub half MOA all day. 5 shots with a .85 inch spread at 200 yards.

Not sure if you're talking about the SASS rifle but if not, they are still good guns. You'll get some AR snobs that'll turn their nose up at DPMS but they are a good. Not top quality but not the bottom either... Good value.

The sass models are nice I had the ar-10 version and it was good out to 800 yards 1000 was stretching it! I hate I sold it but it funded my bolt gun build
