What are the best bowfishing lights that are not very expensives. I just dont want to buy cheap lights and wont last.

One thing. I love my led lights. As for as them being better than other lights they are not. But they are easy to maintain and you don't have to deal with fucking generators

Thanks for the replies fellas. I already have a Honda 2000 ginny for other things. I may just try the shop light idea to save some money. I figure put 2- 250 watt lights on each side and 2 in front for a total of 6. 1500 total watts of lights, should be fine with that generator. Hopefully the cash will be there in a few months to get a platform like I want built.

Ok, have to ask,

More coverage and more output is what you want right? If you get LED's that are only 50 Watts, you would have to put quite a few to get good coverage and bright enough right? So if you put 5 on each side, you still only have effective about 250 watts.

Or do LED's put out more lumens with 5X's 50 watts, as a 250 watt halogen. Trying to get this to an apples/apples comparison. True, no need for a generator the low power consumption, but the cost is a lot for LED's if you already have a generator and mount shop lights.

Where is my thinking wrong here?

I bought 8x50w LED'S @5000 Lumens a piece shipped to my door was around $850. Only thing im not satisifed with is the mounting brackets they csme with, I feel for the money I paid for them the mounting brackets should be much more durable and stout, as fsr as the lights themselves, they are rock solid and bright as hell

Here is the solution you seem to be looking to eliminate LED reflection as I see many people posting about tinting thier leds. Ive had tint wear out and a pain to remove when you want the white light back for clear waters. Goto ebay and type in "Carplite" in the main search box. They sell HPS or Green colored filter covers for 50W LED lights. Also have Custom sizes if needed for other types of light frame sizes. I used them and made a world of difference. I bought one at first just to try out and bought ten after that. Got the best worlds of using LEDs with the color of HPS to better penetrate the water and reduce glare. They are made from transparent plexiglass so much much more durable than tint/film. And you can easily remove these in seconds if you want the bright light back for clear water. Much cheaper alternative than going HPS with all the extra bulbs, capacitors, genny, difficult wiring and weight, etc. Hope this helps, just wanted to share what I have found to everyone who had the same issues I had.
