 Manitoba... only two more days
I've been so busy lately that I haven't really thought much about my annual bear hunting and fishing trip to Manitoba, but now I'm starting to get totally fired up. The more I get packed, the more I'm feeling it.
I'm ready to get away from any communication with the outside world for 10 days... Can't wait.

I know the feeling. I'm going to Idaho on the 26th to shoot a couple of black bear. I'm excited since it will be my first bear hunt. Talking to the outfitter, I should get a chance to bag a black and a color phase. I'm like you, I get pumped up when I start packing. I have been hitting the local archery shop shooting my bow. I'd like to see some pics of your hunt.

Re: Manitoba... only two more days
The trip went well... 7 bears for the group. Fishing was tough since most lakes were still froze up, but there was enough open water in the rivers to catch some great walleyes and pike.

Never saw a mosquito until the last day, but there was still snow in drifts that hadn't melted yet.

Re: Manitoba... only two more days
I love it up there... go every year. Next year I plan to spend 3 weeks in Late May and early June. They invited me to bring up a snow machine and go trapping with them for a week or two this year. I think I'm going to do it.
I actually liked the late spring this year, except that the lakes were frozen and it limited fishing and couldn't use the boat to go into the marshes.
