 Teal decoys ?
Who makes a decent size BWT decoy?
I had some older flambeau years ago and there were the size of a 20 oz soda bottle which to me are too small.

 Re: Teal decoys ?
Be ready to pay buddy, decoys are not cheap. Avery makes some early teal season decoys that is nothing but hends and they have a great shape. Final approach like the guy said are good too. I bought a dozen of those Game Winners from Academy and they look good, but about half of them had leaks at the keel right out the box, i would NOT recommend them. I just use old decoys of any kind with a few mojos and do just fine

A big spot of sky blue tape on your hen mallards does the trick

 Re: Teal decoys ?
GHG are a lot better than final approach in my experience. I have some teal decoys but usually just use hen mallard, wigeon, gadwall decoys because they show up better than those tiny teal decoys. Regular season I will use the teal mixed in because I think having the different size decoys in the spread can make a difference on those tough days. But not for the early teal season. Throw a few dozen brown decoys out and a mojo or two (mojo doves are cheap and work just as good) and you are good to go

 Re: Teal decoys ?
I just throw out any middle of the mall shit I can get and put as many mojos as I can get for early teal. Just be where they wanna be. I know plenty of people that put out mallard spreads and kill the piss out of em

 Re: Teal decoys ?
I bought some tangle free teal a couple of seasons ago and they were absolute garbage. The paint comes off in chunks way worse than GHG and they don't look all that real. They may be better now, but I doubt I'll ever buy any

 Re: Teal decoys ?
Flambeau actually has some good teal decoys out. I'd prolly buy them or avian x's if I was in the market.

I've had way too many GHG decoys crack underneath by the keel for me to want to buy any more of them.

 Re: Teal decoys ?
For teal you can't beat the house brand bass pro sells. Mine been holding up good. My GHG mallards are junk, the gadwall and pintail I have seem to be holding good so far.

 Re: Teal decoys ?
Thanks for the info. I don't like the removable keel designs so that eliminated a few brands. I do have some older sportsplast hen pintail decoys that should suffice for now, not too big and not too small.

Fa blue wings are the best.... The black plastic doesn't show where the paint comes off near as much as their gw....

I really like the look of the Avian X BWT. I bought some last week and I'm anxious to see how they will hold up. I will report back once the verdict is out on them.

 Re: Teal decoys ?
If I was buying new bwt decoys I'd go with the avain x. Best bang for your buck would be the stormfront though. I've had mine about three years and they've out lasted my ghg teal.
