We had a 2 hour window to fish today so I thought I'd share a few of our funny incidents. 1. Laura (friends wife) snagged a 'weed' within the first 10 minutes. Obviously hung up, she requested I move the boat to her line. I took her rod and after a few pulls got her un snagged and reeled in...with a fish covered by slop on the end of the line.... we called it a half catch each. 2. She took a turn running the MudBoat and drove it like a champ. Noone got thrown out so it's a win - I'd say. No sunglasses were lost today. =) 3. Last 2 minutes of fishing, I top water over some lily pads and splash! Big take. I hammer the rod to set the hook and BANG!!! My old rod breaks. El chepo shimano from the 90s. I start pulling it in by hand and found there was still a fish on the other side. Final count was 11 fish in 2hrs 8 minutes. What a fun time! |
