Post Franchi Affinity
Found 2 Franchi Affinity's at Dicks here in Arkansas and decided to hold one… It shouldered great! Anyone had any experience with these guns? For the price, I just don't see how they could be beat unless they were a complete piece of crap.. I shoot a franchi vs612 now and have had 0 issues with it… I plan to buy two.. one for me, and one for lahanna

I have the intensity and I love it...its the 3.5 version. I think they are relatively the same size. Really well built, just a little on the heavy side.

Post Re: Franchi Affinity
Hey all I am new here but been a long time bird hunter and thought i would comment. I currently own 5 shotguns one of which is the Franchi Intensity. Compared to my Benelli, Remington, and Mossberg autos it holds it's own.

I have to admit I was skeptical about another intertia gun at this price but I had shot a friends affinity in the blind and my Banelli Eagle was said to be the same. I got the gun as a back up/ loaner as I am always trying to get folks out to shoot some birds. I also bought the 3.5 mag just in case I get out in the cold to shoot some geese in the muck and don't want to trash my good gun lol.

Make finish and design are what you would expect with the 1000 and under crowd but it is hands above most if not all turkish/check guns like Stoeger and Browning(US) and Mossberg(US).

Pros:
I ventured into the 26" barrel with the camo job. I got it at Cabellas with $100 off the price matched Bass Pro price and paid out the door $899 I believe + tax.

I am now using this gun as my go to shooter. For some reason it swings really well for me being a 6'4" 230lb guy. It is way lighter than the Banelli but the guts are almost identical. I don't know what it is but my eye finds the bead every time as I tend to roll over my gun to aim (yes bad habbit but i shoot better than most so no one corrects me). I can't tell the difference in the kick and it always spits out spent cartridges despite the gram or load. I have probably put 3-4 cases of ammo (not boxes but cases) through this gun shooting skeet and birds from 2.75 to 3.5 shells and all sorts of makes of steel and lead even some of the new fangled fake steel shot. It has held up well and really looks the same as the day I bought it. Again good gun for the money and you cant beat the warranty.

Cons:
I have to say it is nice but not as nice as the Benelli Eagle. Under very microscopic inspection under the barrel bridge the finish is a little rough. The stock is nice but does feel plasticy in places around the trigger. It is also not as barrel heavy or it feels more balanced to me. But that is all I could ever find or say and I took the thing apart when I got it to really figure out how in the hell it worked. IT literally looked the same as the Banelli. Also being not as "NICE" is a good thing as I tend to get picky where I take my Banelli. The intensity for me is good to go in a salt flat or on my stock pond and for that reason it is the one I have used the most since I bought it. And trust me if it wasn't that good I would go back to old trusty rusty Mossberg auto.

Another issue I had was when I first got the gun it would fail to eject about 1 out of every 50 or so 2.75 shells and only in the el cheapo brand from Academy. I cured this by using a firm shoulder of the gun really locking it in and never had a problem since or it could just be that it was new. In the cases I have shot after that it works like a breeze. The other concern someone mentioned to me is that it is light. I personally like light guns and it feels light like really really light when shooting next to other guns. It feels more balanced and in my eyes this is a plus. Barrel heavy guns for some reason make me feel tired especially when it is cold and i am standing in the muck.

Overall I would buy it again and recommend it. Unless you have 500+ more to spend you cant beat it and as long as it goes bang every time you are doing well what the gun intended. Happy hunting.
