If yall had the choice to pick between a:

Benelli M2, black synthetic, that has only been shot maybe 5 times, for $850

OR

Winchester SX3 in max 4 that also has very little use, and chambers 3.5" for $750

Which would yall choose? Ive never owned either gun so I dont know which to go with.. for those who have possibly owned both, which would you rather?

The A400 doesnt shoulder well for me.. the benellis fit me better... the SX3 is about where the M2 is when I put it to my shoulder.

sx3 - be sure it comes with the shims for fitting stock, makes a huge diffrence in "personalizing" it.

I have shot a SX2 for 15 years - the only thing I replaced on it is the charging handle, broke off when it fell in boat, I kept shooting used fork for charging hadle.

I bought my son a sx3 for xmas, it is an improved more refined gun than the sx2. He has over 2 cases of shells thru it this winter, all low base target loads no malfunctions.

Having owned a Browning Gold (similar to the X3) and an M2, my take is clear. The M2 is a superior firearm in almost all respects.

M2 all day one I had made me look good in the blind and at the range. I miss it but I love my new A5 equally as much if not more.

I love my a400, but given the choice between those two go with the Benelli hands down. But I will qualify that by saying I NEVER buy a single thing that says Winchester on it anymore due to VERY bad experiences.

Post subject:  What would yall choose?

It all depends on fit..I bought an sx3 cause a lot of my friends loved them and I didn't know a thing about fitting a shotgun. Turns out I'm tall and their all stumpy fellers and I hated it while they loved it.

When picking a shotgun it should go in this order.
1) FIT
2)FUNCTION (in this case gas vs inertia)

If you don't get the SX3, send me the contact info for the person selling it.

Call me crazy but id suggest a stoeger m3500. Ive put mine through a death test and it has yet to jam or not cycle a shell. Dunked in water, freezing temps you name it. Alot of people say it wont cycle lighter loads but mine has cycled the lightest 2 3/4 low brass I could find. Just get all the thick packing grease off of it when you buy it and roll. Ive got a 26 inch barrel and love the way it points and swings. With the kicks I have in it its basically a 28. For the money I dont think it can be beat.

Just a general statement here, since you already picked. Almost any modern shotgun from a major manufacturer (beretta, benelli, browning, Remington, Winchester) will be more reliable than your desire to own it, save for a couple little quirks (left-handed SBEII comes to mind, they've had weird gremlins going from right to left handed with that gun, but there are others like it). It really comes down to what fits you best. I choose to shoot Beretta and Remington because their stocks fit me best. Nothing wrong with the other guns, I've seen them run thousands of shells without a single issue, but it's pointless to choose solely on slightly better reliability if you can't hit anything with all those shells that it flawlessly cycles.

Just my two cents on people looking for shotguns.
