Can anyone recommend one that works really well? Even an electronic call? I have a brick of .22, a new drum for my 10/22 and a new pellet rifle.... I'm about to declare war on these bastards.

Probably the smartest bird on the planet.
Don't shoot at the first one. He's the scout.
You'll need a crow vs hawk or crow vs owl tape and a decoy or whichever you get.
And a damn 12 ga don't use a pea shooter.
Crow season ended here feb 28.
Might want to check your regs unless they're causing agricultural damage.

Nuisance species here.... Fire at will.

I just figured it would be more fun popping them with a .22 rather than a scatter gun. I've done some reading on them and I knew they were smart SOB's but damn, those birds are sharp!! I know I've got a pile of them around my place. I am not on a mission to keep them from hurting my property, they're just basically obnoxious, and I have nothing else to spend my time doing while I wait on everything to dry up a little here and for my boat to be built...

Electronic call with a variable of sounds. You will find they are best to hunt with a shotgun from a very good hide. Follow them back to the roost in the evening. Get permission to hunt the roost. Set up on the roost right before they return. Have a ten shot extended tube for your gun. Five gallon bucket of lead 6's. They are programmed to return to their roost and if there is a e call playing they will kamikaze the roost no matter how many shots are being fired.
When you knock them down let the cripples flop around for sex appeal. They don't call them a 'murder' for nothing.
In the back of your mind or on your i pod have the final song from SOA playing....come join the murder...

Haha. I've found their roost around me. I've busted 8-10 a day right here around the house without a call but I'm sure I would do better with one. I'm just setting up in a pop up blind with a cooler full of friends, letting them land all over me and bust out and Rambo their asses

I've been shooting my 1100 20ga... Lead 6's and 7's. It's been a pretty good time in the evenings after work. It's too wet around here to do any work on the property so I consider this constructive progress even if it's only a few at a time. I'm going to get a call shortly and I'll try setting up in their roost like you say. They are peculiar animals for sure. It's been fun just watching how they work.

I believe the sound 'death cry' is the ticket on a evening roost hunt. Check them for bands after you kill them. My buddy shot a crow with six leg bands.

If you wing one then try to catch him before you kill him. Give him a little shake and you will be covered up

My brother told me to wing one then tie him off to a tree with some trotline string and let the games begin!!! It's been raining like shit all day today but I may try them again tomorrow.

They say if you split their tongue you can teach them to talk. I say split the crows tongue and then interrogate him to figure out their plan.
I know the older Johnny Stewart sounds worked wonders. My uncle resurrected a old Johnny Stewart record player with a big ol 33 record with some sort of death cry. It worked magic. We would go to the coal yards near the river and roost hunt there. The black coal retains heat from the sun and at night the crows would roost on the warm coal. It worked good for them until my uncle rallied us up.
My buddy Gary has a Foxpro with several cry sounds on it. We will ride around on our four wheelers and stop every half mile or so and call. We pile them up at the end of the day. We have a maze of four wheeler trails so we would mainly try to find a good hide before setting up.
