How many 27w led lights can you run off a good deep cycle battery for 3-4 hours?

Also, if I wanted to rig my deck where 2 people could fish, one on each side, how many of the 27w lights should I use on each side? Thanks.

Don't buy 27's buy 48s for same price. You can use less lights and penetrates water better . Same smal farme, just more leds packed in same box. Buy spot 30 deg, which is still pretty wide when it hits water, about 3 feet .

I've got 2 6V batteries that I bought for one of my floor scrubbers, but there was a clearance issue, so they have just been sitting in my shop. Says 303 amp hours.

Must be very big or very good batteries. 300 amp hrs is huge . Run both batteries in series, then you will have 12v and 300 amp hrs. Thats more then most carry, so no problem. Run all night, assume batteries haven't even been driven to nothing or stored with no charge.

Says 370 AH @ 20 hours & 303 AH @ 5 hours. They are pretty big, but not monstrous. They were 300-400$ a piece.

Those big batts will work great! B4 the airboat I used 2 6v golf cart batts bc they lasted so much longer...just used a couple short jumpers I bought at auto parts store and wired them to be 1 big 12v! If I remember right I had 12 27w on my deck for the BB boat.

Owen, I was running 12 of the 27 watt led lights on my boat. It was enough light to fish 3 people. I ran those lights for over 10 hours on 2 crummy fleet farm batteries.

I ordered 10 of the 48w lights. Should be here tomorrow.

That should be plenty of light for 2 people.

if you decide to tint them (which I would) make sure the glass is completely flat. The 48 i have seen were dimpled and you could not use tint. We were able to use amber tape but you had to double layer it to actually change the color. Which case i still think it is lighter color

Is the tint to help you in muddy water?

Post subject:  Re: 27w LEDs

Yes Owen, I have my 15" light bar tinted and a handheld spotlight tinted with yellow. It also helps with shadows, reflection in timber and fog!

I need to get mine finished up and ready to roll too.

What should I do for battery setup? 15 27watt

I have 15 of the 27 watt lights and have them running on two deep cycles. Lasts a pretty good while.

When I was running 12 lights I could stay out all night on a charge.

What deep cycles you using?

Author:  4Cody4 [ Wed Apr 01, 2015 3:30 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: 27w LEDs

They were cheap fleet farm deep cycles. Not big ones either. I may end up getting bigger batteries now, but when these were new, with 12 lights they'd run for 10 hours.

I'm am trying several different tints, but still nothing looks as good as Hps in tinted water. I will keep trying. Pib below is my last try at led tints, with yellow and double yellow. Leds are nice for quick lightweight 12v option.

Owen, would you care to share a picture of your very own "ultra affordable" light bar set up?

You're an innovator, and I have complete faith that you have come up with something that will impress us all.
