Looking for a few different ways to cook up frog legs. I tried deep frying for about 6 to 7 minutes, also tried on the grill, seemed to be a little tough and chewy in both cases. What seems to work best for the experienced frog hunters on here. I experimented with 5 lbs. of medium sized freshly caught legs and couldn't seem to get right. ![]() Will be going again this Thursday and will give it another round. Thanks! |

6 or 7 mins seems alittle to long. That's why they may be tough. 3or 4 mins is all we ever cook um. |

Blackened frog legs are top notch, frogs in a sauce piquant is damn good too. Of course if your just keeping the back legs you're throwing the best part away IMO. |

Throw them on the grill for 3 or 4 minutes and toss them in a buffalo sauce. You'll never eat them fried again. Sauce recipe: 2/3 cup hot sauce (I like Louisiana Hot Sauce or Frank's ReHot for this) 1/2 cup butter 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce cayenne pepper to taste garlic powder to taste salt to taste to taste |

I leave mine whole minus the head. I leave the belly intact and slit down one side of the backbone to get the guts out. Marinate the frogs and shrimp in marinade of your choice, I use Cajun Injector Creole Garlic or Cajun Butter Recipe. Stuff two or three shrimp into the body cavity and wrap the belly with a slice of bacon. Season and throw on the grill until done. Like said before, when done on the grill you will never fry them again. |
