They are good and bad.!

The good:
Let's you see what's there 24 hrs a day.

The bad:
You will be so eager to see what's there when you're not and the deer will pattern you by the scent you leave each time you check the camera. You will see some hammers at night. You'll hunt over and over during the day and just see squirrels.

I also find they are unreliable and the more money you spend doesn't necessarily mean you'll get a longer lasting camera.

The last one I bought was a cheaper wild game innovations. It's ok. When it stops working I'll get another cheapy.

I found the Duracell lasted longer than energiser. Set it to take pictures every 15-30seconds if you want your battery to last. A cheap 2 gig card will be fine. Order a two pack off Amazon for next to nothing compared to what they cost at Wal-Mart for one.

I hope you're stealths are better than mine were. They went in the trash after the first couple months. They weren't even worth selling to someone.

I read some good reviews on the p12 why I bought it, ive never been a big fan of wild game innovation but if the p12 don't work I may give it a try.

I've tried a few different ones and the Bushnell cameras are the best so far. It doesn't get glare from the early and late sun (btw, pay attention to your direction so you don't blind the camera) It also switches to IR night mode earlier than some others I've tried so you don't end up with dark photos. Spend the money on Duracell Ultras or it will eat batteries no matter the brand. Unlike MSM, I only check them every two weeks during season and once a month off season. Set the picture delay according to how long you are willing to look through photos. It can get boring as hell looking through 500 pictures of doe and small bucks but when the big one finally shows, you'll wish you had it set to every second  Do not wear a trail out going back and forth, it'll take a lot of pictures but if you use the information you gain to your advantage, you'll know when to go hunt and when not to. You can pattern the game yourself and figure out their habits, not like el dumbass above that has it all bassackwards  . That box looks good, run a 4-6" long lag bolt through the back and into the tree, it'll be there when you come back. Pay attention to tall grass or low limbs or you'll get a bunch of pictures of nothing. If there is a limb hanging in front, give it a couple extra feet for rain droop as well. I can go on and on about it and I did a good bit of research and this is about the best site there is to look at. This dude as tested many brands for trigger speed, detection, picture quality, ect...up until last year. http://www.trailcampro.com/trailcameratestarchive.aspx

Good luck and post up somoe photos when you get it figured out.

Hey William...I don't check my cameras but every two weeks, if I even put them out. I was just pointing out that a lot of people that start with cameras fall in to the trap of checking them too often. Maybe I should have stated that better.

And it takes a dumbass to know a dumbass...... dumbass:lol:

I recently bought some Plot Watcher Pro's. I have bee using them to monitor my commercial fishing gear. You can set them to take a picture every 1,3,5,10 etc seconds. Nothing to trip or flash. Works perfectly. With a 32 gig card it will take thousands of pics.

Looks like that link I posted earlier is bad or something. Anyway, go to Trail Cam Pro website and look around. http://www.trailcampro.com/trailcamerareviews.aspx

I use them all hunting season, I try to stay out of the area excpet to check my camera...and when big boy starts slipping up in daylight, thats when I start to hunt. Also lets me better judge the age and what I'm willing to shoot or not...basically if I dont have any good bucks on camera, I dont sit and waste my time.

Our lease is over 500 miles away so instead of going through thousands of pics each time we go we have the cameras that text you pics when it snaps one. Pretty sweet. You greatly reduce going in and blowing deer out. We are running the new coverts this year

I use them for all kinds of things, not just deer. I have one out at my mothers house under a feeder just so she can see all of the animals that come in her yard. She really likes that, even named a few of the regulars. Also have used them to catch trespassers.

If you have two different brand cameras buy four memory cards. I try to put them in packs and label them. Always use the same card in the same brand of camera don't swap them willy nilly. It'll cut down on problems. If you start having problems get on the manufacturers website and do some reading on formatting SD cards.
