I went hunting at one of the many marshes around here in Northern Utah, and I picked up my swan for this year. I dont think its the biggest one I have ever gotten, but its still pretty damned big.

Ps- I'm 6 foot 6 and 375, so that gives you an idea of how big the bird is...

Exceptional photo...Congrats on bagging that bad boy...Got a tag for this season here in coastal NC. They issue about 5000 permits each year in a early drawing.

How do your states DNR manage your Swan permits in Utah?

Thanks! We have a draw for ours also. They just barely changed it to a "point system" draw this year. So, if you didnt draw out this year, it doubles your points for next year. its a pretty good system if you ask me. its better than putting in year after year and having the same chances as drawing out as everybody else.

Its pretty cool, we're been seeing a LOT of birds mirgrating in lately. I think the current number is just shy of 40,000 swans come in, in the last 2 months and they are still coming in in droves! they sure are fun to shoot, but a BITCH to clean.
