Was more fluff than meat. Not like a Sandhills dats for sure. A little fishy but made a decent gumbo. ![]() |

They are protected under some bird treaty act. The brown pelican was released off the endangered species list earlier this month actually not sure if this was just Texas but DDT almost wiped them out here. |

actually, i prefer the white ones, the brown ones are greasier to me. they taste ok, not near as good as baycroche or nutra. |

you guys missed the mark with the pelican. They are some really fine table fare if prepared correctly. I'm sure you've heard of a turduken. Take a pelican, shove a seagull up his ass after shoving a king fisher up the gull's ass. Roll them in fish fry, fry till golden brown. After all, they all taste like fish! |
