I have the standard old Q beam and a Seelite bar on the front but I would not mind something nicer for a handheld.

Also, if you know of a good spotlight that doesn't draw down the battery like crazy I am interested in those as well.

Me and a buddy use to get HID kits and put them into the qbeam, easy and only costs about $20 or less for the kit

Did they actually have a decent light output with the HID?? Most of the time an HID just throws light in every direction and that's why they make projector housings for them to cast the beam out a more desirable distance. But if they actually have comparable or better light output than the 2-3 million candlepower Qbeams then heck I'll retro fit a few!

Yeah it was actually pretty damn bright. get some warmer colored bulbs and be good to try, been about 4 years since I did it. really easy to do

I've done the same with HID's they work well if you stay around 4000K... Any hotter than that and the light gets more color to it and it scatters worse it seems.
