Has anyone hunted out at th JD Murphee down by Port Arthur this year? had any luck? seein any birds? gonna give a try in the morning, just curious if i have anything to look forward to....

ive come to a conclusion after hunting SE tx over the last week and a half........ we need more ducks!

me and a buddy had only 3 ducks come in... 2 mottles and a ringneck. and seen only a hand full of birds flying around. went out to anahuac refuge this morning with BrackIV and we got 7. one of the 7 included my first band... mottle duck hen... gonna post pics lil later

While you were all sitting in line at J.D.'s we took our sweet time and hunted Mud Bayou and smoked the ducks every weekend!!! No lines and no company. It was a nice change of pace for sure!!!!!

Tellin people where you're killin birds on public land is the absolute dumbest thing you can possibly do. Every jerk off with a boat and a gun is gonna be tryin to close in on your honey hole and you're gonna be all pissed off about it. Why? You did it to yourself!!! Truth be told, yes we did good on Big Hill at first. Then people started talkin about it and everyone flooded into the place and started setting up on top of each other and shot it out.

I have been going out to brentwood country club and shooting my limit of greenheads evertime I go!!!! (Maybe that will get all the public hunters to go there instead of mud bayou?) Good job dude..

To be honest with you, I have not hunted Mud Bayou in prolly 3 years. Just trying to prove a point with most of the idiots that keep posting where they hunt and what they are bringing out with them!!! Most of the kids that hunt around here do not even deserve to be out in a boat much less with a firearm. They do not show any respect for the fellow hunter and do not care about the laws, or even know them!! They also could care less about the environment they are in (leaving trash behind and tearing up the marsh) or about the ducks themselves!!! Shooting over their limits and mud stomping birds or just leaving them laying behind!! I coudl go on and on!! Anywho, have a good day!!

Ok, since you won't butt out, let's say you found a spot & you've been doin good consistantly. Just by luck, Joe Bob stumbles across your spot one day that you can't hunt. Next time you go out, not only do you have Joe Bob set up on top of you, you also have 5 other parties there because Joe Bob told so and so, who told so and so, who told so and so, and so on. Now if it had only been you and Joe Bob, no big deal, but because of everyone else, the entire area is gonna be duck free for a LOOOONNNNGGG time. You're right, go find another spot, but this was the only chance you had to take your kid with you and now it's screwed up. If this doesn't bug the sh*t outta you, then go tell your kid that the only time they get to go this year you're bringin them to the most crowded spot you can so hot sh*t can fall from the sky on em till you finally get enough of it and leave. Better yet go get yourself neutered before the dip shit gene gets passed down.
