Just saw the season dates posted, looks like you boys in the costal zone got shafted with yalls season starting/ending earlier. Although, For the dates they allow, I couldn't be happier with how our east zone was set. Really pumped for the youth hunt on feb. 6th, seems like they always get thick the week after season Hopefully we have a cold winter with lots of big cold fronts! |

Some people don't like it at all, some are ok with it. For me, I'm ok with it. It was a big deal between rice and marsh hunters. Rice guys may not get to hunt the opener because they'll have second crop to cut still. For me in the marsh at our lease , I'd take an extra week in November over that last week in jan any day. Late jan, water gets high and it's a diver shoot. But some marshes are different, that's when I go public land and do just fine. This just goes for last year, but our youth smoked them on youth weekend (which is now the weekend were opening). Is was it is, weather is unpredictable. I do feel bad for the rice hunters though. Oh and woodie I'll be in Ruston for the next 2 years a good bit, if ya ever have an extra spot let me know. Will always return the favor |
