Under 16' for the life jacket. If equipped with a kill switch lanyard & tiller handle, yes.

is it really that big of a deal to slip the lanyard over your wrist? its kinda put there so that you wont kill yourself incase thrown overboard.

Re: sup wit deez new laws i heard bout???
I always wore my kill switch and have been wearing the life vests regularly for a awhile. They still haven't found the body of the guy lost here on the Red River. When his boat was found the day after he went missing it had beached itself and was in gear and out of gas. So he fell out, not wearing a life vest or kill switch lanyard in a flood swollen river. Now his family along with W&F and local LEOs have been looking for a body for weeks. The family was camped out at the launch for awhile. At least a body would give them closure. Or how about the guy that drowned on Catahoula last year when he and his kids went into the water. Kid survived and swam to shore after trying to help the father that eventually drowned wearing waders and no life vest. Kid will be forked in the head for life. We had a GW up here drown a couple years ago by falling out of his boat with no life vest on. Its not a big deal and I don't even notice it anymore. If you don't wear them for yourself, at least do it so your family will have a body to bury.

Re: sup wit deez new laws i heard bout???
My wife's grandfather died in a similar accident before we got married. Her Brother just this past year was thrown out of his boat and was able to make it to shore before the boat was stopped by a passing tug boat. I also wear my PFD and kill switch and I don't put my hip boots on until I get in the blind or have to go on foot after a wounded duck.
Some people don't wear their PFD because it doesn't make them look "cool" but neither does a coffin.

Re: sup wit deez new laws i heard bout???
i'm assuming this is in LA only? I rolled into the launch last weekend before the split, and the GW didnt say anything to me about not having them on.

I bought me a camo one so I could look cool BTW - buy like a 4x so it will fit over your camo. I tried it on in the store with just a t-shirt, get to the launch during hunting season and I felt like Tommy Boy

i don't wear my life jacket or my kill switch laynyard. i'd rather die in the bayou than at work or in a hospital. don't care if u don't like it.
btw, i don't wear my seatbelt in the truck and my kids would never wear a helmut to ride a bike.
