Post subject:	Deer hunting south of I-10 in basin to close Friday
Atchafalaya River gauge at Butte Larose to reach 18 ft Friday triggering mandatory deer hunting season closure South of I-10 in basin from outside protection levees east and west. Pelba gauge currently at 15.33 and will continue to rise with River. This is historical high water for winter. Not sure what the end result will be.

I just checked records. In 1972 and 1982 River hit 20 feet in December and before that never in winter. I think this crest will exceed 20 foot record if the rate of rise continues at this pace. I'm ok at my camp at 28 feet.
