Post Predator Calls
just bought a knight and hale hecklin howler and prey blaster calls. Watched the video today and took them outside to see how they sound. I can tell you these are the closest ive ever heard to a real coyote. Anyone else have any call suggestions? We have a pretty good bit of coyotes over here, so these may come in handy.

Cowboy thought- a thong on a woman is like a barbed wire fence. It protects the property but doesnt obstruct the view.

We need to hook up after duck season -- I've got a Fox Pro FX5 LOADED up with all kinds of calls.

It's some kind of fun on the crows, too!!!

Post Re: Predator Calls
Always remember to post a hunter up about 2-400 yards down wind from the caller/howler. Coyote will come to them like nothing else but the problem is most of the time when they come in they smell the hunter/howler. I have a thermal imager from work that we used to test out how many coyote we were actually callling in. My first year of serious calling/hunting coyotes I had abou 20 percent kill ratio to what I called in. 1/5 is o.k. but not good enough. I found that coyotes will come in but most hook way down wind and get a little snifff and bug out. One night we went to a area with alot of coyote scat all around on the surrounding roads. We set up facing west and the wind was out of the northeast. Blowing over our right shoulder. I cut loose with a howl. A few minutes later my buddy Gary whispered he can see two coyotes coming our way from the west. He then whispered there was two more coming in from the south. He then said the two to our south have winded us and flew the coop. The two from the west were now angling down wind . They then winded us and headed out. I did some distress sounds and two more coyotes both singles came in from the northwest and headed down wind. A short time later Gary could see them bug out when they winded us. Six coyotes all from different directions all pin pointed the location of the howl and distress sounds and all came in down wind. The thermal unit was a 40,000 dollar unit our dept received a grant for and it was of updated mil issue.
With this new found observation we were able to incresase our kill ration to coyotes seen by posting a man down wind day or night.
