1/4 ounce to 3/8 is what I use most.

Ain't never tried tying something that big!! I pour, paint and tie all mine on 1/16 oz heads!

The best thing I've found so far are these two. Northland Buck a roo and a strike king smallmouth jig. They're good but they lack in colors and I prefer the "body" like the crappie jigs got. Not just straight buck hair.





I have to think that them jigs you got bumped up a couple sizes would would be on fire in the early spring.

Standup heads would be an idea also. The purple an chartreuse along with the indy would be killer on the Mississippi during the spring run here.
