Hunted Plum Tree NWR this week on a draw hunt. Went in totally blind and set up the first morning in what looked to be the best spot for the wind but only managed two birds at first light. Wind changed and the tide dropped like someone pulled the plug. We boogied to the other side of the island and finished up shooting a bunch more birds. All divers. New Years Day we went back with a little more knowledge and the wind was about 15mph more than the forecast. Tough morning but we shot our birds and managed to scratch out a White Wing Scoter from shore. The NWR is an old bombing range and is still full of ordnance. The round pond in one pic is a bomb crater. Cold and rough. |

Good hunts and thanks for the pics. Love seeing areas across the US to duck hunt. Thanks. Randy |
