Post Bowfishing LED Light Question
I dont want to spend a whole lot of money on this set up. im thinking 27w, 42w or 50w LED. If i go with the 27 or 42 should i get spot or flood and are they any good off of ebay? ive also looked at the Seelite 50w led. How many of each kind of light would i need on the 1646 gatortail? Sorry for so many questions.

I got the 50w flood lights and they work great. I have 9 of them and on a deep cycle battery they run for about 5 hours. If we stay longer then I hook them to my engine battery. I also put yellow tent over them and it made a big difference in the muddy water.

Where did you get your lights from? What size boat you got?

Seelite 50w only way to go. 6 Fixtures would be plenty. Get the true warm led chip. You will thank me later. Fished behind about every light out there, best on the market for the price.

Comes down to what kinda of water you shoot and personal opinion. I use the true warm (halo color) in all types of water and they work for me.

After researching the hell out of all the lights, I decided to go with Seelite warm 50w LEDS. I really like them. 3 is the minimum you should get. 1 to point forward, 1 to point left and 1 to the right. 6 or 9 would be great too!

This is a picture of us froggin, I only have 2 of the LEDS hooked up in this picture.

*no gators were harmed in the taking of this picture

yea that's how I am. My buddys have generators and I want to get the led setup. it is a little pricey, but if I do it, I might as well do it right.

Well I have decided on going with 4 50w LED seelite. Will prob add two more 50w LED later on. Got a few more questions. Which fuse blocks are yall using? Should I use aluminum or steal to make my light rail and what would you use angle iron or square tubing?

I'm going to use a battery to run the four lights. If my calculations r right I should get about 7 hrs of run time on that battery.

When running off batteries, of course a cdi engine would help to keep a charge, but if non cdi......giving the battery a "break", turning the lights off for ten or fifteen minutes every once in a while helps a lot for total battery run time.

I run 14 27w leds and if i leave them on constant i get prolly 6-7.5 hrs.
if i turn them off every hour or two for a lil while, they last all night.
sometimes fish 2 nights without recharging when fish are thick.

A digital volt meter is nice to add into the wiring where u can monitor voltage on the batts.....u can see it climbing back up when the lights are out.
The lights i have will run until the battery gets down to 9 v.....if i remember correctly.

I just use the mudmotor...the exhaust isnt underwater like an outboard so it doesnt spook the fish near as bad as an outboard.

I have 2 deep cycle batts wired 24v......the only reason i go 24v is for less of a "load" on the wires.
24v is no brighter than 12v,it just draws less amps.

My batterys come from walmart....free 1 year replacement.

Just ordered 4 50w LED halogen style lights from seelite. I was going to get the hps but after talking to them they said the halogen style was a good all around light for muddy and clear water. I ended up getting a lil discount to cuz 3 of the lights had a lil scratch on them.

I am in the process of rigging out my boat now. I bought 10 of the 50w halo seelites, that I am gonna push with a Honda 2000 genny. I will take some pics and do a full review as soon as I finish up and test it out.
