Scruffy Buck
After my last deployment, I found out that someone edged me out on my deer hunting land.
The best option I found this year was to get a WMA permit and hunt the edges of Beaver Lake and the White River. I put a few ladder stands up and have mostly just watched does walk about.
A good friend was promised a whole deer for the freezer. I watched four does pass, and decided to go ahead and pop the next one that showed this morning. The next two that showed were both little basket rack bucks. I decided to go ahead and take one.
This is the first blood in the boat.
I kind of like hunting the river banks from the boat.
I only have a few days left and hope to see a shooter buck soon.

Scruffy Buck
Congrats, Ranger!
FYI....Scruffy bucks look just as good in the freezer as do the non-scruffy bucks.
They always look good when they are in your own Uncle J Customs boat! LOL
Had one of those scruffy bucks in my boat this weekend, too.
300 BLK 150 gr FMJ met neck vertabrae.
