Post First decent buck
After passing up a lot of deer the past few seasons. I finally got a chance at a nicer buck. Came in to 25 yards hot on a doe. I fed him 2 shots from the marlin 35 Remington lever action and he piled up within 20 yards. First shot would have done him in though as it entered above and behind the shoulder and exited low opposite side armpit taking out heart and lungs second shot was at 15 yards as he was running past me and took out the liver.

Congrats , there's a marlin .35 in my fathers gun cabinet. Has my name all on it. Shot my first buck with it , in the early 80's .

The marlin .35 is where it all began for me Ive shot at least 10 deer with it including my first back in 2001. I haven't used in in about 10 years. This year I decided I wanted to bring it back out in the woods so I replaced the old 3x9x32 Tasco scope from the 80s and put a leupold 2x7x33 VXI on it. It is only fitting that my first wallhanger was taken with this gun. The .35 in my opinion is one of the best calibers on deer for thick woods hunting inside 100 yards. Most deer just flop over in their tracks when you do your part on shot placement.
