We are taking the kids down there in the 1st part of August before school starts. I’m considering bringing my bay boat and trying some bay/gulf fishing or just bringing my duck boat and fishing the nearby back waters. Any if y’all ever had any luck fishing there? I see they have a big pier, but I’m sure it’s crowded as heck

I took the family there a couple years ago and fished the beach with live bait. Didn't catch a damn thing. That is all I know about it. I didnt feel like dragging a boat for 10 hrs.

I used to fish offshore from there. Used to do really well on kings, amber jack, and snapper. It's all about knowing where structure is around there but if you go to a wreck or troll around you can do well.

We stayed on the bay side last year and took a small mudboat. Caught 1 trout and a ton a small hardheads. The bay is huge and shallow. We walked out a 1/4 mile and still titty deep. The boat did come in handy for pulling kids on boogie boards :D
