Here is the deal fellas. I have been blessed with an opportunity but I need a couple spots filled.

The stars and the moons are lining up right now for this to be the best opportunity this year for an absolute goose smackathon.

Here it is. Refugio, Texas 4500 acres with an extremely large pond of 500 acres on it. I would imagine this is where all of the geese are roosting. THese geese have multiplied in numbers over the last few weeks to a a very very large number of birds that are not shot at, at all.

The owner has made an extremely gracious offer to allow the geese to be shot at, we can stay in his lodge and they are feeding us ribeys ect. It is next Wednesday night arrival hunting Thursday and Friday and depart Friday. $300 total. Not $300 a day, $300 total.

The weather is going to be over cast to slight rain. I intend to set out 800 decoys after the birds leave the fields to go roost. That way we can go in and set up, then go eat a steak and partake in a beverage or two. Your also welcome to shoot a hog.

There are no other deals like this out there at all. Goose or no goose this is a bad arse package to say the least.


Now I have been charged with gathering the folks and most of the spots are filled. Be it I am in charge of gathering the folks I believe it is my responsibility to put this out front. This is what I expect.

This aint a place we are going to and leave without cleaning the house. They are nice enough to let us come down so when we are done Friday we are cleaning the house to as good or better than we found it.

They have had a lot of rain. It will probably rain a bit when we are there. We are going to need 4 wheelers to pack this stuff in. If it is too muddy and it is going to rut the pastures then we are on foot from the road to the hunting area.

I know 99% of you fellas are of like minded when it comes to this line of thinking. I put this out there because it is my responsibility to be upfront for the landowner's sake.

This is by no means an attempt at all no even implied that we are going to kill birds. These are smart end of season snow geese. The conditions are the best, that does not mean we are going to beat the hell out of them.

We are the guides. I will be there early on Wednesday to find the biggest concentration of birds so we can set up on the X. If we can't set up on the X we are going to get right under the flight path off of the roost without spooking the roost.

I found out about this 2 days ago and I can't believe I am having trouble filling it. I aint an outfitter and I don't guide anymore. If I can't fill it then I won't be able to go. They aint going to open the door unless I can fill it.
