Post Need some help on a boat blind
I have an 18x48 custom boat that flairs to right at 70. Looking for anyone who makes custom blinds or knows anyone who does. Located in south Louisiana. Want something for next year. Looking for someone who can make me a pop up frame or who can point me in the right direction before next season.

Thanks for all the help

Do you prefer to shoot from the left or right side of the rig ?

I prefer the port side - so that if I bring a guy with an auto
his spent shells don't fly my way...

Some years back, on a previous boat, I made one from square tubing. I used the existing seat mounts so it's easily removable. The straps have snaps to attached to the boat under the side rail.

My current boat doesn't have those seat base plates so I'll have to come up with something different this one.

It all depends on how you want the blind secured to the boat. If you are cool with drilling holes in the boat it would be much easier. If not you would probably have to make a copy of the clamps on the Beavertail Blinds. This is due to the height of your deck and catwalks would prevent an easy clamp bracket like the Gator Tail blinds.
Feel free to come by the house and look at mine for ideas.

We can do something very similar to how the Beavertail blind clamps on the outside of the gunnels. I will draw it up latter and and send it to you.

Advice about boat blinds. If it had a roof, you will have way more success.

Yes, I plan on incorporating a roof section on it. All of my big stationary blinds have roofs on them. I pick up leases a lot so I figured it would be easier on me and my old man to just have a nice boat blind so we arnt spending months building blinds at all the different areas we hunt at.

Btw, if anyone ever hears of leases that come available, let me know. I’m always looking to get into more.

My thoughts on a roof- I make PVC squares that I put burlap or other material on. Yes it’s not fancy, but you never know where people want to sit, changes in location, etc.

I lay them under the decoy bags in the way out there, then when I get there, I simply zip tie them to the top of the blind frame only on the back side. They go in between people, and when you set them up, have the hole just barely hear wide. People look down when birds work. When it’s time to shoot, you pop up, they flow back, and you do your thing. Costs virtually nothing, weighs nothing, and can be moved around depending on how many people are hunting, etc.

Don’t overthink it.

I like that idea too, works good I’m sure and serves the purpose of having that Coverage from above
