my pond in my backyard, i have to drag the grass/ algae out of it every yr once or twice a summer. been like this for the last 20 yrs. just did it 2 weeks ago. slime is already starting to appear!

the pond is about 5-6 ft on one side, but the rest of it is 3 ft, 4 ft in other areas. with all the drought its dropped a lil bit. what can i put in to not have so much algae and slime and grass/ trash?? \

also as u can tell its not that big. but i would like to put some more fish in it. what would be my best bet to put in? these would just be for catch and release. Bass/ Bream would be my best bet?

BTW.. theres 3 ducks in the photo.. can u find them??

you need an aerator system, give me the surface area and more exact info on the depths (cubic feet) and i can tell you what size (hp) areator you can buy for the requried DO. until you do this, your going to have problems with algae blooms and you wont keep any numbers of fish alive. there are some drop in chemicals to kill the algae but without oxygen in what appears to be a stagnate pond no fish. areator for that pond would be cheap, couple hundred bucks.

used to be every time we come home from bass fishin if anything was left alive it got thrown in the pond. (((yes i eat bass!! i know a few of u are cringin at that!!!) and bream as well. used to be catfish too. i did see one hellacious ass cat in there about 2 weeks ago. bream beds all over one side, and i do catch bass every time i go fishin. i know fish are still alive in it. thx wes i will let u know this weekend..

a little 5 horse would probably work, just tell me a little more bout the size. it will really help the fish, probably wont even need to run it all the time.

His pond will stay like that as long has he discharges all of his sewer in it. Justin didnt think he needed the threatment system if he had the drainage pond. :?:
