We went to a buddy of mine's camp and we caught a 4 within 30 minutes. Just about every cast a red was burning the drag. :twisted: Great ending to a good weekend. Now they are all on the half-shell awaiting the BBQ pit. Can't afford those BGE like CAPT JON and SANDMAN :lol:

Looks like y'all had a great trip. I hit a few myself Saturday afternoon. Me and my buddy in the boat. Ended up with 8 reds and 1 trout.

You sure did get into them.

I had been burning the bass until last week and that has played out. Now the panfish are active. Once that plays out in a few weeks I'll spend the rest of the summer letting those spotted tails pull that drag out just like you.

And I am looking forward to it. :lol:

jp you seen any under 20"?
everything I have been catching has been over 25" with a few under 20".
seems like all the reds are big this year.

2 rat reds the whole time. we saw alot of reds in our normal spots but they were not giving us any look they weren't even in the ponds they were in the open. we called johnny and met him and within no time at all we had them in the boat. we hit'em on the other side of the oil and gas field.

no i didnt see any small ones. they are coming in to spawn; the gar were spawning and we saw several over 5 and 6 foot. saw one that was about 6-7 ft biggest one i've ever seen in wild. me and eddie were freaking out at the size of it and tons of freaking big gators too.

even though the winds have been blowing, barataria bay has some clean water.
I have been doing well down in lafitte and port sulphur, just have to make the long run to get to the fish.
ps. those long runs are making me wish I had went cc.
