i am thinking of trying my hand at catching some crawfish in the Mississippi River in Wi. I've seen several types of traps offered on internet. Any thoughts/suggestions from you Guru's in La. appreciated.

if your fishing deep water,, pillow traps (deepwater) will work the best. if your in a pond type situation the pyramid traps is what to use.

for us it all depends on how often you plan to check them if we are sitting there pulling the traps every few hours then those old double circle ones work if its more of a long term thing those pyramid ones are good

Pillow trap and face it into the current in the woods as little as there might be.
