How far is the boat ride from Carolina Kings to the run?

Post subject:  Re: 2013 Sc Sparkleberry duck run!

Depends on your boat. I know guys that can run it in 8 minutes. 15-20 minutes is a round a bout number.

Can you run straight up the lake or do you have to cross over and run the river? Not worried about a stump or two but not wanting to run thru a mine field.

You can run the lake. That's what we are going to do. It's honestly not that stumpy on that side of the tressels. Now Packs Flat is a whole other world.

If you're going to roll in Sat it would be wise to get to pack's no later than 8. That place gets packed(no pun intended) in a hurry with all the asshats rolling in. If we didn't already have 10 people in a 6 person cabin I'd invite you to stay with us. After the run we getting the water boiling with a low country boil and some crawdads Sat evening as well as a few(bunch) of drinks

Is there a way to pre register or just do it that morning? We will be coming by boat so what time do we need to be at packs?

No this will be the first. I think we will have two boats coming. How much gas do you think it will take with a 35 GTR? We will be leaving from Carolina Kings.

We're staying there as well. Idk how much you'll use precisely but I put 8 gallons in my rig and barely used 2 gallons. Only place you run wot is the river back to Packs and then of course back to Carolina Kings. You staying with Terry by chance?

You register to play a deck of cards. 5 stations, 5 cards. I think everyone who participated last year won something. $25 per hand and all proceeds go to the Flyway Foundation and the Santee National Refuge. It also waivers if anything happens out there.

Yes. You don't have to participant in it. I do just because it is going to an in state organization for our waterfowl population.

We have our own cabin. Coming from GA. Just trying to find out everything we need to know before we get there. I went to the duck run web site but it hasnt been updated for this year and not really any info other than list of sponsors. I will check out scducks.com. Anything else we need to know? I have watched the youtube videos and cant wait.

Stay at Station 4 for as longggg as possible. Boobs have been known to surface. And look for us at our cabin. Black GMC Z71 pulling an xpress and a charcoal Chevy Z71 pulling an F4. That's us.

We both know it's for a good cause but you and I both know all 500 boats didn't play a hand. My group last year had 10 hands we played

I've heard the stories of the old mam but also know people who stayed there and had a great time. Think it deals mainly with being respectful.

I have stayed at Carolina king twice. The guy was a jerk to me when we showed up and I almost left just based on that. The other people are very nice. He talks down to adults like they are children. Saw him yelling at other groups for crazy stuff like playing music while they grilled out. Not blaring it. Just a radio going. Either way. Nice cabins...the old man is just a weirdo.

Coming from NE GA not to far from Athens. That sucks bout the old man , we like to have a good time but not cause any trouble. If he wont even let you listen to the radio and grill thats going to suck.

I can assure you he and I wouldn't get along! The more I "grill," the louder the music gets...

Post subject:  Re: 2013 Sc Sparkleberry duck run!

ok serious bidness....I we are rolling to both but I need to know what the best deal is. Never been there before. Gonna have 3-4 guys and need to know what to do as far as bedding down goes. Is this Carolina King the best deal (or only deal for that matter) or are there other options? camping is ok, but we will be in one truck with a boat so it would be pitching a tent. Any hotels close by (like a holiday inn or something) in case we can't get a cabin from the creepy old man? I gotta get off the ball and come up with something. Thanks.

Mizz I checked google and there is a Days Inn in Summerton about 12 miles away. Santee is about 20 miles and has alot of places. This is my first trip also but I think if want to stay on the water your choices are camping or Carolina Kings.
