All- I wanted to go over some important reminders and safety issues

1. Waiver forms will be available for anyone needing to sign the day of.
2. When launching, launch your boat with all your gear in it. Load up BEFORE the ramp & do not block traffic.
2. Once launched & you have all your group aboard, please proceed across the River and park on the far shoreline. ** This area is privately owned! BE RESPECTFUL**
3. DO NOT LITTER be responsible and place all trash in a bag inside your boat.
4. Wait on the shoreline until the designated boat(s) takes a group to the mud flat
5. This boat will go over important safety information as well.
6. We will not tolerate any intentional destruction of the natural vegetation during this run. Thus, KEEP IT IN THE MUD!
7. The entrance to the mud flats are all VERY narrow, especially depending upon water levels. With that being said, proceed with extreme caution, do not run WOT all over the place. Blind corners and drains litter the area be always assume a boat will be there.
8. Be prepared to be stopped by the Game Warden. If your tags are not current then you'll get a ticket. It is imperative that you have a life jacket for every person on your boat.

I know they were at the ramp handing out tickets last year. In TX, what all are we required to have other than life jackets and registration?

270Handiman brought up a good point:

Game Wardens will want to see life jackets if you have an in hull tank you're required to carry a fire extinguisher. I carry a fire extinguisher on any boat but that's just me. That law may have changed it's confusing to me but I have one so it doesn't apply to me. Registration papers if asked. Throwable cushion may or may not be required I have one and have been asked to show it before.

If on water and you see the game warden stopping us, go ahead and pull out all life jackets for people on board.

You can have an open container on the water in Texas however you can just as easily be handed a BWI (Boating While Intoxicated) if you're drunk.

If you had too much to "hydrate" with, you should be man enough to have someone else drive your rig to the launch or on the flat while you rest with water. We do not tolerate any behavior that can jeopardize the safety of others. If we see someone displaying this behavior we will ask you politely to have someone else drive you back home.

Please bring plenty of water along with your sodas.

The Game Wardens in these areas have airboats, expect to see them amongst us.

Good info.

This will need to be reiterated closer to the event and at the launch also. Nothing wrong with having plenty of fun but boating rules are what they are for a reason...

Great post. I like to have a good time but be as safe and cautious at the same time. With that many boats in one place bad things can happen really fast.

Take heed to these rules guys this run has been alot of fun over the years and it is growing by the year. We want to keep this thing going every year, kind of a good wind down after the season. There will be plenty of room for anybody and everybody. This is the 5th year since we've started this run. Haven't had a problem yet and don't want to start this year with any. Always watch out for everyone, there will be alot and I mean a lot of boats. Anything 18' and longer will need a throw cushion. Just be careful and have fun. We know most of the wardens around here and they will not tolerate stupidity or the dangerous driving of a boat. They are cool so don't force them to do their job.

There is one thing that some people frown upon and that is spraying mud as you come by someone that is momentarily stuck or people that are just stopped and talking. Trim down as u come by and don't fill peoples boat up with mud. There will be kids as well as women in some of the boats lets try to be respectful.

Enough of all that I hope y'all are ready to have some fun.

Just to add a little more, if you have not operated a boat in this shallow water and mud before or have had limited experience, boats don't turn in this. The above posters have much experience in driving in the mud and hence the reason for the warnings about speed and blind spots as you can't turn or stop as usual. Let's all be careful and have a great time.

Same here. Don't have this kind of mud here either. Thanks for the tip on turning. I'm on a learning curve from here on out.

Big wide turns! And lots of throttle. If you're stubborn like Migrator, bring extra fuel! He tends to use a lot when he gets temporarily immobilized

I ran all teal season on the same 6gal lol... Had to dump it out before the first split and fill with fresh.

I'll have a full tank plus a couple extra gallons for the run.
