Change of VENUE for Saturday... You'll see there's been an update on the website and we've added a better venue for the Saturday Dinner / Post Run Festivities.

Instead of hanging out in a parking lot we've been able to secure use of Ancelet's Marina.

Ancelet's Marina
7069 Rainbow Lane
Port Arthur, Texas 77642

The area has ample trailer parking and of course facilities we can use.

There will be plenty of parking for everyone, it'll be BYOB. Ryan has graciously allowed is to use his marina to hold our after run fun. It is a place we can sit and eat under a covered awning and there are picnic tables available to us. There will be trash cans onsight so I would hope that we can treat his place like our own and keep it clean . Thanks

Assuming there is a ramp at the Marina?
How far of a ride from there to the other ramp where everyone is launching?

Author:  calphil [ Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:44 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Saturday Night Dinner & Festivities

Yes there is a ramp there .. About a 10 minute boat ride up river ..

Author:  calphil [ Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:45 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Saturday Night Dinner & Festivities

Takes about 10 minutes to get to the river cause you gotta idle out to get to main river .. So 20 min total or so

Looks to me like this marina is a closer ride to the GSU flat to me, why not hold the whole deal here launch and all?

Post subject:  Re: Saturday Night Dinner & Festivities

The marina is only closer to the square pond, but traveling north to moon pond it a good little haul ..

The reason we aren't holding it here is everyone has already made plans to go to Port Naches Park and everyone knows where it is from the past years runs. Next year we will all meet at the marina For a catered crawfish boil By Ancelets where you can drink beer and there is a boat launch right there at his place and plenty of room for everyone. Ryan is a close friend of mine and I talked to him for a bout an hour yesterday about next year and he's all in. Just too much to throw together at last minute beings the run is less than a month now.

The GSU ditch is not far from the marina but the moon pond is a good little haul , no further than what we are use to riding though. I mean what do you go to a fun run for, THE RIDING, so next year we will have a different place to huddle at.

I usually stay sober most of the time, so if anyone needs a ride I don't mind.
