Post Courtesy and safety
Those who have been before probably understand, but for those who haven't, we are going to be in a very small, relatively quiet town. There are houses all along the river and main channel. We are going to be there in HUGE numbers, our boats are loud and obnoxious, and we would like it to be almost as if we are not there. Please do your part to be courteous to other boaters and do what you can to stay out of the highly traveled areas (main channel and river), get a map, go play in the woods if you want to ride around. If you pass fisherman in the channels, please slow to no wake, especially if there is a group of you. It's a large lake and it's not too hard to get away from the crowds, but please do what you can to be courteous should you encounter other boats, and try to stay away from heavily populated areas as much as possible. We go to great lengths to plan the route for our main ride so that we have the least amount of interaction as possible, both so we can keep it moving and also to be courteous.

For the morning ride on Saturday, a good portion of the ride will be in tighter areas, and safety is of the utmost importance to us. In order to keep everyone safe and make sure everyone makes it back ok, we ask that there is ZERO passing. We will single file out of crips, throughout the ride, and on the way back. Please stay out of the spray of the boat in front of you, and immediately get off the gas if you do not see a roostertail in front of you. There was a bad accident out there just a few weeks back. We do not want anything like that to happen again.

In the afternoon, we'll be running across open water to Louisiana. You can open it up a little if you know where you're going, but please continue to be safe. If you pass, please do so at a safe distance, and keep a good eye out for fisherman parked out there. They will sometimes sit in an area with a few stumps and/or lilly's and can be hard to see until you're close. PAY ATTENTION.

I'm sure the GW's are fully aware of this event, and there is a good chance they will be out in numbers to make sure we stay under control. There is no open container law, but I assure you they will not tolerate drunken drivers. Please have someone capable of safely getting you back to shore in your boat with you.

Other than that, have a great time. Sorry for all the "rules", but we would like to be able to continue doing this ride for years to come. The only way that is going to be possible is if everyone is respectful to the folks who are there year round. We are trying to do a good thing for the lake, and want to be viewed in a positive light. Anything we can do to prevent negativity is a good thing.

Thanks

I'm planning on it man. I got my days off. Probably show up early Saturday and leave Sunday morning cause I'll have to wrk that night. I have a radiator leak on my explorer though that will have to be fixed. That's the only thing that could put a kink in my plans. Been cleaning on the boat today and I'm wore out..lol

Safety first. Everyone wear a life vest. If you don't I will personally spray you with orange paint.

One more thing, I'd like to bring up is trash. This should be something that's pretty self explanatory, but PLEASE, lets leave the lake in better shape than we found it. Keep trash, cans, bottles, etc in your boat until you get back to shore. There are burn barrels all over the place at crips to throw trash in. There is someone who collects and recycles the cans down there as well, so the cans don't even have to go in the bin. There is a barrel right next to the boat ramp where we can make a pile.

Don't be surprised if the ride slows to a halt for whoever is leading the group to snag a few cans or other floating trash out of the water. Please feel free to help out. Onion island is used by a lot of other folks as well, and unfortunately, not everyone is as courteous and respectful as we try to be so there is almost always trash around there. If you see it, just throw it in your boat, or mine, I don't mind carrying it back, and I'm sure most others won't mind either.

All I'm asking is to leave the place better than we found it. This all goes back to keeping ourselves in a positive light. The better the job we do at everything mentioned in this thread, the more likely it will be that this ride continues for many more years.

Thanks

Manners and respect... if ya parents didn't teach you some feel free to ask someone around you for pointers...before they give you some anyway.
There are a lot of guys that call Caddo their home waters and are against this ride taking place due to bad publicity with locals. Lets all have fun and not fuk things up for them. ;)
